Looping NYC

On hot summer days that meld into the evening, many New Yorkers search for comfortable outdoor seating to drink and dine. My local favorite is the  Boat Basin Cafe because it has something for everyone. There’s happy hour at the bar with a decent selection of tropical drinks including frozen margaritas, pina coladas and mai-tais. There’s also a ton of seating. Some seating overlooks onto the pier below and other tables are placed underneath an archway type roof, for those who want to be out of the sun. The last time I went was with co-workers and most didn’t even know the place existed. Located on 79th, near the water, alongside Riverside Park, the place is a mystery to most Manhattanites, but to locals, it’s a the go-to place during the hot summer months.
