Held captive by air-conditioning

It’s past noon and I haven’t left the apartment. Today is a day off, but I still have pitch letters to write and errands to run. I was going to go to the gym, but decided to send one more email and read one more news article and never left. Then I thought I’d make my way to Barnes & Noble and that may still happen as soon as I finish writing this post.

I find it hard to leave my apartment because I have air-conditioning. At first, I tried to do without it today, opening the windows and turning on a little desk fan, but after sweating in my slippers, I had to turn it on.  August in San Francisco was never like this. In fact, I would have to close the windows and wear a hoodie inside the house.
